Technical Solution Design

The Technical Solution Design identifies and defines how the solution will work from a technical perspective.

What databases store and serve what information, what customisation needs to be undertaken and what functionality is provided as part of the core framework solution; and most importantly how each of these elements ultimately interact.

Although the Technical Solution Design document is effectively the fourth of the Core Project Documents, unless we are working with an in-house development team, this is an internal, non 'client facing' document, that does not require client sign off.

One critical point to understand with regards the Technical Solution Design is that it CAN NOT be undertaken until the FRS is approved and signed off, as without a clear definition of the functional requirements the technical design would always be flawed.

Any changes to the functional requirements, post FRS approval and sign off, will be managed by the Project Manager under Change Control, ensuring that the ramifications of every alteration are properly understood and built into the development process.
