Wessex Water Intranet Upgrade
22nd June 2009
Eurisko have just completed the first phase of an upgrade of the Wessex Water intranet (known internally at Wessex Water as 'Source'), from version 6.1.13 to 7.5.3 service pack 2.
In planning for over 12 months, this upgrade is a key stepping stone in a multi phased program that is focused on improvements in the delivery of key information whilst enhancing the overall user experience.
Due to the mission critical nature of 'Source' the upgrade process was initially engineered and tested off site on a mirror system built and run at Eurisko's Sandhurst offices. Beyond the standard upgrade tasks, Eurisko addressed a number of core issues including developing a fix for the migration of archived content and assets, additional presentation capabilities for assets and PDF content and migration of the data feeds that supply content to Wessex Water's internal TV channel Source TV.
As well as the Wessex Water new media department, Eurisko worked closely with the IS team to deliver the completed solution that is now successfully running on a 64bit VMWare platform.
The completion of initial phase was signed off today, with the next phase due to commence by mid summer.
